The Tukwila School District thanks local police officers for their continued emphasis on community safety, which culminated today in the seizure of three hotels along Highway 99 whose operators are suspected of participating in criminal activities.

“These hotels are practically within eyesight of Foster High School and Showalter Middle School,” said Tukwila Superintendent Dr. Nancy Coogan. “Student safety and wellbeing is a top priority for us so we absolutely support law enforcement’s efforts to stop any and all illegal activity. Our schools are zero tolerance zones, and we need the same expectation to extend throughout Tukwila to keep our children safe and healthy.”

Today’s crackdown involved hundreds of police officers and a year-long investigation.

“I want to express my appreciation on behalf of all of our families,” Coogan said.
